Plant Based Dyeing Workshop w/Dena Haden
Sunday, June 10th from 10am-2pm
Come and explore the land and plants through an immersive day outside in Berkley, MA, exploring native plants and trees while learning techniques to utilize plant material for natural dyeing processes
Students will learn the basic techniques for a natural dyeing process through a hands on workshop using plant based materials such as leaves, roots, barks, berries and nuts.
Bring your own cotton or plant based fiber- (cotton, flax or linen) It is best to select a light color.
We will also have a plant/garden exploration and walk throughout the property to explore native plants and trees. Bring your own picnic for lunch! Light snacks and herbal tea will be provided from Bilo Herbs, thoughtfully crafted in Westport to enhance wellness.
Students will leave with a hand dyed piece of fabric and basic skills on how to forage and create their own natural dyeing process at home.
Dena is an artist as well as the Program Manager at New Bedford's new Co-Creative Center.
$45 per per person
